Ayurvedic Nutrition Workshop blessed with Vedic & Native American Ceremonial Songs

Sunday JUNE 26th, 2011

Time: 430-7 PM
Shaman's Vision Sacred Arts Center 5222 Hollywood Blvd. Los Angeles , California 90027

Celebrating the Oneness: The similarities between Native American Tradition, Yoga and Ayurveda

Native American tradition, Ayurvedic tradition and the Yogic lifestyle all share the common practice of living in harmony with nature. If we delve deeper into the similarities we find that sound vibrations (sacred sounds, songs and mantras) and respect for the ancestors is also a common thread that holds these traditions together. We gain prana (divine life force) from Nature through positive mantras, songs, pranayama and the food we eat. Mantras or Sacred Songs are ancient sound vibrations that have been used for thousands of years to heal the mind, body, and spirit. Pranayama is the regulation of breath and our divine life force energy. Native American drumming and chanting are sacred sound currents beating to the rhythm of our hearts. Join us in this heart-opening ritual, where we merge Native American tradition with Yoga and Ayurveda, celebrating the oneness. Together, let’s imbibe our bodies and food with sacred sound, breath and positive intention. A lecture on Ayurveda and the healing power of food and spices will be interwoven with sacred sound and breath. This transformative journey will end with the sharing of a blessed Ayurvedic meal after the spirit plate offering is made. Join us and carry the essence of sacred sound with you, as breath and Ayurvedic food nourishes you, and becomes a part of your very being. Recommended Donation: $15

Intro To Ayurveda Workshop

Introduction to Ayurveda - The Science of Life

Sheetal Teaching an Ayurvedic WorkshopAyurveda is a 5,000-year-old system of natural healing rooted in the ancient Vedic culture of India. Literally meaning “the science of life” (Ayur = life, Veda = science or knowledge), Ayurveda is the sister science to yoga. Together yoga and Ayurveda work toward the goal of helping a person achieve health, happiness, and ultimately liberation. According to Ayurveda and yoga, health can only be achieved by the balanced and dynam...ic integration of body, mind and spirit with the changing cycles of nature. In this workshop we will discuss the Ayurvedic secrets to health and longevity by providing the basic guidelines for living in harmony with nature.

In this “Introduction to Ayurveda” workshop, we will talk about the three bio-energetic forces or doshas that govern the outer universe and our inner universe. Common energies existing both in nature and the human body are forces known as: Vata (wind), Pitta (sun or fire), Kapha (moon or earth). With the understanding of the dynamic relationship between our bodies and the environment, we increase our self-awareness, and become better equipped to realize our full human potential.

Ayurvedic Healing Therapy

We are dedicated to our clients and our practice.  An in-depth analysis of your health history and your current health concerns/problems will be conducted. We will help to identify your unique body-type (Prakruti) and will offer guidelines to prevent disease processes and imbalances.  In cases of body-mind imbalance (Vikruti), a treatment intervention including lifestyle and dietary guidelines along with herbs, panchakarma, meditation, and yoga may be advised to help restore balance and support the innate healing and self-repair process in the body.
